Panisse, a terroir for the future

Domaine de Panisse benefits from an exceptional terroir, made up of diverse soil types that ensure remarkable complexity:
– Sandy and sandy-loam soils, contributing finesse and elegance
– Clay and rolled pebble soils, providing complexity and structure

The terroirs at Domaine de Panisse show excellent resistance to drought, with very little sign of water stress even during sunny, dry years — a crucial advantage in the face of climate change. Truly, a terroir with a promising future.

Panisse, Four main Grape Varieties of Châteauneuf-du-Pape

Domaine de Panisse is composed of old vines of the four principal grape varieties of the Châteauneuf-du-Pape appellation:
• Old Grenache vines planted on both sandy and clay soils, bringing fruity notes and aromatic finesse to the wine;
• Syrah vines grown on poor, sandy soils, lending the wine complex fruitiness and spicy character;
• Mourvèdre vines planted in richer clay soils, providing structure and depth;
• And old Cinsault vines on sandy soils, adding a touch of freshness.

This blend achieves a perfect balance between the excesses of some varieties and the subtleties of others.
